ESL Educert Cyprus respects your privacy. This policy explains how personal data is used when you visit esleducert.com or contact us.
The policy concerns the current operation of the informational website and communications. It does not cover online payments, a Moodle platform or other services that are not currently provided through the website.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller for communications through the website is ESL Educert Cyprus. For privacy matters and requests concerning your data, contact esleducert@gmail.com with the subject “Personal data”.
2. What data we receive
- Contact details: your full name, email address and the content of the message you submit through the form or send by email.
- Additional information you choose to provide: for example, your business details or a description of your learning needs.
- Technical operating data: when you visit, the hosting server may log your IP address, request time, requested page, browser information and errors for website operation and security.
Please do not send health data, identity document details, card details or other sensitive information through the general form. Required fields are marked on the form. Without the necessary contact details, we may be unable to respond to your request.
3. Why we use data and on what basis
- Responding to general enquiries: to manage correspondence and assist you, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with interested parties.
- Requests for a service or proposal: when you request information or a quotation for a service, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Operation and security: to address technical problems, malicious activity and spam, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website operational and secure.
- Legal obligations: where required, to comply with a specific legal obligation or to establish and support legal claims.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter or constitute consent to advertising messages. We do not use your contact details for a newsletter through this website.
4. Who may have access
Access is available to the people handling your request and, to the extent necessary, hosting, technical support and email service providers. The contact form uses the WPForms plugin in WordPress. This reference does not mean that every message is transmitted to the company developing the plugin.
The contact email uses Google’s Gmail service, so correspondence is also processed through the email provider. Data may also be disclosed to competent authorities where legally required. Transfers outside the European Economic Area require an appropriate GDPR mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. You may request information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your data at our contact email.
5. How long data is retained
Messages and contact details are retained for as long as necessary to handle the request and any related follow-up. Retention is determined by the nature of the request, any ongoing collaboration, applicable record-keeping obligations and any need to support legal claims. Technical logs and backups are subject to the hosting provider’s respective retention cycles. You may request more specific information about data concerning you.
6. Cookies and external links
The website is based on WordPress. Login and preference cookies are used for signed-in administrators. Depending on the feature you use, technical cookies may be required for its secure operation.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or equivalent analytics and advertising tracking services on this website. No online payment system or Moodle service operates through it.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok or other external websites lead to services with their own privacy policies. Review those policies before using the relevant service. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; blocking technical cookies may affect website features.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may request access to and a copy of your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Send your request to esleducert@gmail.com. We may require proportionate information to verify your identity. A response is normally provided within one month; for complex or numerous requests, the permitted extension may apply, with appropriate notification.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Cyprus, you may contact the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
8. Security and policy changes
Managing personal data requires appropriate technical and organisational measures. No method of online transmission or storage guarantees absolute security.
The policy will be updated when website operation or relevant obligations change. Before new data collection features are added, corresponding information about their purposes, recipients and legal basis is required.
